In the autumn of 2019, a number of stakeholders from the employment sectors participated in a meeting in the Danish Ministry of Justice concerning the implementation of the EU Directive on whistleblowing.
On 17 June 2020, the Danish National Organisation of Municipalities informed the Whistleblowing International Network that they have not heard any more information about the transposition process since the meeting in autumn 2019. There have been taken no centrally organised steps concerning implementation with regard to the municipal sector. A few municipalities in Denmark already have a whistleblower mechanism of their own and some are considering putting one in place.
