A new law on whistleblower protection has been published in Estonia to transpose the EU Directive on Whistleblowing. The Bill has been made available online and will be sent from the Ministry of Justice to the Government. It is expected to be discussed on Anti-Corruption Day, 9 December 2022 and then sent to the Parliament shortly after.

The Bill is scheduled for Parliamentary readings next year. Estonia therefore will not meet the 17 December 2021 Deadline for the Directive to be fully transposed. In the meantime, whistleblower protection experts will analyse the law.
