Civil society organisations, Active Watch and Apador CH hosted a roundtable event to discuss the transposition of the EU Directive on Whistleblowing. The Directive must be fully transposed into Romanian national law before the 17th of December 2021.
A representative of the Ministry of Justice announced that the Ministry received further comments from the central authorities and the legislative process will continue following Romania’s Parliament approval of a new Government. During the debate, civil society organisations released a Report on whistleblowing protection in Romania which compiled expert statements and interviews with 22 whistleblowers.
