The Romanian Ministry of Justice (MoJ) by Order no. 118/C/2020, has established a working group for the transposition of the Directive on the protection of persons who report breaches of Union law (EU Directive on Whistleblowing.)

MoJ representatives have also participated with the EU Commission DGJust expert group meetings on the transposition of the Directive in order to exchange information and good practices between Member States.

Romania currently has partial whistleblowing protection in place since 2004 but only for those working in the public sector.
