A coalition of 31 NGOs have called for civil society awareness and support for the EU directive on whistleblowing, which must be transposed before the end of the year.
The campaign was initiated by Maison des Lanceurs d’Alerte (House of the Whistleblowers).
The NGOs condemn the Government and Parliamentโs slow pace transposing the directive and advocate for a law that effectively protects whistleblowers and guarantees that their disclosures are properly handled.
The petition highlights the main flaws of the current law on whistleblowing in France โloi Sapin IIโ and asks the Government to approach transposition as an opportunity to improve the law, making 12 recommendations – including the creation of a support fund for whistleblowers as well as a single office to handle reports and provide whistleblowers with psychological and social support.
The petition can be signed on the campaign website here.
