The Office for the Protection of Whistleblowers of Anti-Social Activities, the ÚOOPČ is now open to the public and has launched its website and reporting platform.

The office will provide advice and assistance to individuals reporting ‘illegal activities endangering the public interest’ including criminal offences, misdemeanours and torts which have a ‘negative impact on society and outweigh the interests of the individual. ’ The office will focus its capacities on detecting corruption.

The Office was established under Slovakia’s Act on the Protection of Whistleblowers of Anti-Social Activities adopted in 2019. There was a lengthy delay in its first president Zuzana Dlugošová being elected in February 2021.
