The Italian Parliamentary assembly has discussed preparatory work to transpose EU Directive on Whistleblowing
After much delay, discussions on the preparatory work for a draft law to implement the EU Directive on Whistleblowing into Italian law are now underway in the parliamentary assembly.
Responsibility for transposition of the Directive, which must take place before 17 December 2021 is understood to be shared between both the Ministry of Justice and the Department for European Policies within the Prime Minister’s office.
Proposed amendments to the draft legislation made by the Parliamentary Commission can be read here. Once approved, the law will officially appoint these Ministries and implementation of the Directive can commence.
