Luxembourg’s Office for Whistleblowers has officially joined the Network of European Integrity and Whistleblowing Authorities (NEIWA) during its 9th General Assembly in Valencia, Spain, in April 2024. This expansion brings NEIWA’s membership to 33 authorities from 26 countries, with the shared goal of promoting integrity and improving whistleblower protection mechanisms across Europe.

By joining NEIWA, Luxembourg shows its commitment to strengthening whistleblower protections in alignment with the EU Whistleblowing Directive (2019/1937), which the country is working to fully implement. The Office for Whistleblowers’ membership in NEIWA will facilitate collaboration with other European authorities, hopefully further enhancing the country’s mechanisms for safe and effective whistleblower reporting.
