A new whistleblowing law to transpose the EU Directive on Whistleblowing has been adopted in Finland.

The Finnish Parliament approved the law, which seeks to transpose the EU Directive on Whistleblowing into national law, making it the twelfth country to adopt legislation to implement the directive.

The deadline for all 27 Member States to fully transpose the Directive was 17 December 2021. The EU Commission has begun infringement proceedings against the majority of Member States who have not yet properly implemented the requirements.
