New whistleblowing reporting offices have been set up under the new whistleblowing law in Austria. The channels accept and ensure the anonymous reporting of information on breaches in the course of professional activities.
The Federal Bureau of Anti-Corruption launched the new internal and external reporting offices to implement the Whistleblower Protection Act on 25 August 2023.
The Whistleblower Protection Act (HSchG) was officially promulgated on 24 February 2023. It was adopted to align national whistleblower protection with the 2019 EU Directive on Whistleblowing.
The City of Vienna has also established reporting channels, which accept reports from individuals about breaches of EU Law as required by the EU Directive.
