The Minister for Justice, Francisca Van Dunem, has announced that the Portuguese Government intends to transpose the EU Directive on Whistleblowing into national law later this year. Van Dunem said that the legislation required to transpose the Directives provisions will be address within an anti-corruption proposal since the issues ‘intersect.’
Portugal currently does not have a comprehensive whistleblowing protection law.
NGO Transparency International Portugal published a report in 2018 looking at Whistleblowing Protection in Portugal.
