25 Civil Society Organisations have published a statement calling on the Spanish Government and political groups to urgently amend Spain’s current Draft Law on Protection of Whistleblowers
The Spanish members of WIN and several other organisations have sent a Decalogue of Recommendations to strengthen the preliminary law, approved by the government on September 14.
New legislation in whistleblower protection must be passed in Spain to transpose the 2019 EU Directive on Whistleblowing into Spanish national law, which is now 8 months delayed.
NGOs which reviewed the law in line with best practice principles for legal protection of whistleblowers and found several concerning loopholes and weaknesses.
