Public consultation on drafting a new whistleblower protection law is now open in Croatia. A new Act is being adopted in order to harmonise the current national legislation with the EU Directive on Whistleblowing and other international standards or ‘acquis communautaire’ as well as to tackle implementation issues detected so far with the current existing whistleblower legislation.
Given the number of amendments forseen, it was decided that new legislation is needed rather than amending the current law.
Consultation is open for submitted opinions until 2 December 2021 and it is available on the public portal e-savjetovanja.
