Civil society in Greece have published recommendations to strengthen whistleblowing protection provisions within new draft legislation to introduce new labor protections. Public consultation has now been completed on a draft law on labor protection โ establishment of an independent authority seeks to transpose EU Directive 2019/1158. TI Greece have provided comments on the framework which draw on key principles of the EU Directive on whistleblowing (EU Directive 2019/1937) which also must be transposed into Greek law by 17 December 2021.

All responses received will now be examined by the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs to finalise the draft text of the Bill.
