Whistleblowing law reform is underway in Slovakia. The Government must introduce new legislation to transpose the EU Directive on Whistleblowing into the national legal system. The deadline for all member States to transpose the Directive was 17 December 2021 with only a handful of countries passing new laws in time.
The proposal – Draft Amendment to Act. No 54/2019 – is currently being considered by the Government and there is still a number of steps for it to be adopted. Information available online states that this is anticipated for 1 May 2022.
