Legislative progress on the transposition of the EU Directive on Whistleblowing Directive into Italian national law has been suspended
The next step was for Parliament to approve a law to mandate the Government to begin implementation. Article 23 of this Bill of Law or “Legge Delegazione” covers the transposition of the whistleblowing protection Directive was expected to be approved in March and would mandate the Ministry of Justice and the Department of European Policies to draft new legislation.
The Bill has however been amended in the House of Representatives and therefore is returned back to the Senate as of 01 April 2021.
No date for the voting at the Senate has yet been scheduled.
