During the plenary session of Germany’s Federal Parliament, the Bundestag, referred to the draft whistleblowing law known as the ‘HinSchG’ in its first reading for further discussions with the parliamentary committee for legal affairs.
The EU Directive on whistleblowing should have been fully transposed by 17 December 2021. Infringement proceedings initiated by the EU Commission are underway against Germany – as well as against numerous other EU countries.
