The German Minister of Justice Christine Lambrecht (SPD) has, apparently, sent a first draft law to other Federal Ministries, which is exclusively available to one German newspaper.
According to an article in Süddeutsche Zeitung, the Ministry wants to expand the scope of the Directive, at least to a certain degree. Experts have said that there are still some serious shortcomings with the proposal e.g. there is no obligation to carry out investigations following anonymous reports and disclosure of classified information is not covered.
That draft is understood to be this version: Referentenentwurf des Bundesministeriums der Justiz und für Verbraucherschutz. Important details are still missing, as other Ministries have not yet delivered their contributions.
